Talk:Settings Reading Screen

Undocumented changes?

I'm using WP 3.9.1 and I noticed that at least the Settings > Reading > Front page displays option seems to be now moved to the theme customizer menu. I have not found a solid reference for this change (yet). If anyone finds it, this codex page (and others, I imagine) could use the update. Thanks

It don't think this is the case. Rather, there is an undocumented feature, which is that this setting is only displayed in the Settings > Reading page when you have published at least one page. The customizer currently displays the setting even if there are no pages that could be used: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/27630
I'm going to add a note about this to the page.

Ah, it looks like there is already a note there about the setting being hidden when there are no pages. So I'll just leave it as it is.

I see it now: "This setting displays only if you have one or more Pages defined."
Thank you, and sorry for the confusion... I was just going crazy trying to figure out why the setting had moved on me!

On the other hand, the new theme customizer interface seems to display this option regardless of whether you have pages or not.. FrancescoRizzi 17:37, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
