Talk:Upgrading WordPress - Extended Instructions

I added the tip about the automatic upgrade plugin. It has made upgrading so much easier. I don't know why anyone would want to upgrade the manual way. I can't wait until this upgrade functionality is added to the core. Tom 16:39, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

List of files for deletion in step 7 appears incomplete

Why doesn't the list of files for deletion in step 7 include all the other files in the root directory? Other files in the root directory are also often changed in new versions, and surely the should be deleted too before upgrading?

It does say delete these "wp-* (except for those above), readme.html, wp.php, xmlrpc.php, and license.txt; files; Typically files in your root or wordpress folder. Again, don't delete the wp-config.php file." --MichaelH (talk) 00:25, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
