Talk:Using FeedBurner

I'm not sure we want to promote third party applications on Codex. Or am I alone in thinking this? ;)

Highlighting syndication tools would certainly be helpful to users, but providing mini-user guides may be overdoing it. For stuff like this, we should probably just have a page (or pages if categorized) listing different applications available for (indirectly) blog-related tasks. -Kaf 19:41, 8 Jan 2005 (GMT)

I went by the presence of Simple PHP Gallery. In any case, some people might want to use it. WordPress provides you with the feeds, what you do with them is your business. If you want to route your feeds through feedburner, so you get the stats, so be it. I don't think that covering such topics is a disadvantage to WordPress. The cuteftp tutorial by podz, the cpanel tutorial etc are examples where the tools covered were essential - this is one where it is not essential, but an enhancement. It's a genuine question from the forum, one which macmanx took some effort answering, so I put it in here.

Hmmm...just ignore my original comment. I think I had been sniffing too much white-out or something. I think that as long as we plainly indicate that these things are not part of WP (which the FeedBurner page does already) then that's fine. A resource is a resource. :)

I would recommend against using the plugin. It does not work in all cases. But give it a try. It is easy to uninstall if it doesn't work. See the site for more info and discussion. It seems I'm not the only one having such troubles.
