Turbo: Speed up WordPress
The Turbo ability, introduced with Version 2.6, adds new features to your web browser and speeds up WordPress for the local computer user. Essentially, Turbo caches images and javascript files in Google Gears. The More information... link describe the Google Gears product.
The following information is displayed:
WordPress now has support for Gears, which adds new features to your web browser. More information... After you install and enable Gears most of WordPress’ images, scripts, and CSS files will be stored locally on your computer. This speeds up page load time. Don’t install on a public or shared computer.
- Install Now
- Click the Install Now button to install Google Gears on your local computer.
Press This
The "Press This" function allows quick posting and publishing through the use of a special web browser favourite. You can create a shortcut to allow use of "Press This" from the new post screen. You then activate the function when browsing by selecting the favorite from your web browser favorites list.
