The Conditional Tags can be used in your Template files to change what content is displayed and how that content is displayed on a particular page depending on what conditions that page matches. For example, you might want to display a snippet of text above the series of posts, but only on the main page of your blog. Below is a list of the general user tags available in WordPress, sorted by function-specific category.

All of the Conditional Tags test to see whether a certain condition is met, and then returns either TRUE or FALSE. The conditions under which various tags output TRUE is listed below. Those tags which can accept parameters are so noted.
