There is no debate or room for leniency here.

1. If it looks like spam or self-promotion and a key member of our docs team says so, it's done. Gone. I trust them. If they think it smells, it smells.

2. We do not permit any form of self-promotion on the WordPress Codex. That is part of the reason we take the "I" out of all the content.
