The fastest way I guess to get some information about somebody is to look into his Blog: uberdose 2.0 :)

I came to wordpress in 2004, to be honest I can't exactly remember why. I think it was because it uses PHP which I was becoming involved into due to a couple of contracts at that time. In a couple of minutes after the first install, as I realized that it was updating my .htaccess automatically, I was hooked. I began to do everything in wordpress, using it as a CMS for some experiments. I developed frontends for it (viewable representations of the blog content, other than wordpress itself, so to speak).

Even today, after evaluating a lot of blogs and CMSs on java, I'm still loving wordpress. The servlet spec is simply no contender at all for PHP with mod_rewrite.
