User talk:Eads

I see you are about to submit an article called "Hardening WordPress". Just curious if there is a "better" name than this before you get started. As always, thank you for your contributions. I just am not familiar with the phrase and want to make sure that it is understandable by everyone. Lorelle 19:20, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Typically, security guides are known as hardening guides (heck, there's a whole volunteer group devoted to php security that releases "hardened php"). Perhaps we could include the phrase in the article but use a different title. It would be useful to get people acclimated to the terminology, if only to aid in Googling.--Eads 04:35, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

In the future, please follow the conventions on the Codex and click the user's name to leave a message on their discussion page. This will automatically pop up a "Messages Waiting" orange box when the user next visits the Codex. Nice. Otherwise, no one will know to check here for the answer.
The issue of the title is now being considered by the Documentation Team. As this is a wiki, everyone gets to help and participate on every document. No egos here. ;-) Thank you for your submission. I'm sure it will help WordPress users understand more about how security issues are handled and how they impact them. Lorelle 11:24, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the note about the article not being ready. When it is outside of a user page, then it is considered "ready for prime time". In the future, set up rough draft pages as subpages of your user page such as [[User:Eads/Article Title]].

Thank you again for your contribution. We all learn as we go here. I'll put a Rough Draft note on the top of the article. Lorelle 13:46, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Again, welcome and let us know how we can help you help us on the WordPress Codex.

We Thank You

The Codex Documenation Team and all of WordPress thank you for your time, effort, and contributions during this past Codex Cleanup Week. It has been amazing. Over twenty new documents were added, and more are still in the works that will be released over the next couple of weeks. The entire Codex is now categorized, improving the ability of users to find the related information they are looking for.

The next big Codex-related event is WordPress Backup Week July 23-30. The project will promote backing up your WordPress database and site for the user's protection and further develop the relationship between the Codex and the WordPress Support Forum. Documentation volunteers will be cleaning up and expanding the backup and restore information on the site and Forum volunteers will be readied to help users in the Forum walk through their site backups. We need your help.

We are also starting a page for information and sign up for a variety of Fundraising and Promotions Events for WordPress and your help is needed there, too.

Thanks again for helping.

Hardening WordPress

Wow, I don't think a document on the Codex so far has attracted quite so much attention and editing. You stirred up a hornet's nest and I want to thank you. this is critical information and we need to get it RIGHT. Thanks for working with everyone for so long to get it right and helping WordPress be stronger, and more secure, than ever. Thanks. Lorelle 13:29, 15 Jul 2005 (UTC)
