Function Reference/esc attr e


Displays translated text that has been escaped for safe use in an attribute. Encodes < > & " ' (less than, greater than, ampersand, double quote, single quote). Will never double encode entities.

If you need the value for use in PHP, use __() and escape the value with esc_attr() when output into an attribute.

(string) (required) The text which is to be encoded.
Default: None
(string) (optional) Domain to retrieve the translated text.
Default: 'default'

Return Values

This function does not return a value.
