The Wordpress Feeds page in the Codex needs to explain about Author Feeds as well.
Right now this page does not mention "Author" feeds, but they are available in WP out of the box, very similar to Category feeds.
This page mentions using http://yoursite/wp-rss2.php?cat=33 as the default format for a feed for a specific category. However, wp-rss2.php (and related) are deprecated in the latest Wordpress, and forward to the generic rss URL. How then can one access a category feed in a default installation besides hacking the code? Greenman 02:08, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
This page suggests using http://yoursite/?cat=n&feed=n as the default format for a feed for a specific category if PERMALINKS are set to DEFAULT. I can report that the simplepie plugin (utilizing shortcode [parse_feed feed="feed"]) will not accept the cat=n argument and will simply parse feed=n. Only when permalinks (http://yoursite/category/category_name/feed) are used will simple pie parse the feed correctly. Not sure if this info belongs here.
