Talk:write post subpanel

This information is a duplication of Writing posts. I like the way this page is laid out. Looks very good. See the merge-into request.

I've merged most of the content from Writing Posts here. Since that page is 1.2 specific, should it be kept around? I'll let you take out the Merge Request when you think appropriate.

I have already posted a picture of the write admin panel, complete with numbered tags to help tie the image into an ordered list of definitions/explanations of the panel. See Writing posts and you'll see what I mean.

My image is 1.5, the old one is from 1.2

Before I upload a Write Page image, should I label it as you have done with the numbers (and should I label the other images)?
It may be helpful to readers to do this. NuclearMoose 00:49, 10 Jan 2005 (GMT)
Also, do you think a numbered list is better than a definition list for this content?
No, the definition list is fine, as long as you indicate that it pertains to a number on the image (if you decide to use numbers.) NuclearMoose 00:49, 10 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Rock on. I'll work on it. --MDAWaffe 01:14, 10 Jan 2005 (GMT)

So far I've written one wiki page per admin panel. This certainly works for Dashboard. For Write, there are two subpanels (write post, write page), and I have included both of those on the same wiki page. Manage and Options start to get more difficult; each has 6 subpanels. Does anyone have any opinions on whether or not these subpanels should all have their own wiki page? --MDAWaffe 23:48, 9 Jan 2005 (GMT)

I'd say that each is better to have their own wiki page. NuclearMoose 00:49, 10 Jan 2005 (GMT)
Can do. How's the following naming convention for the wiki pages?
  • Write Panel
  • Write Post SubPanel
  • Manage Panel
  • Manage Posts SubPanel
  • ...
A rigorous convention would have either "Write Post SubPanel" and "Posts SubPanel" or "Write Write Post SubPanel" and "Manage Posts SubPanel", but neither of those solutions is satisfactory. I could make the SubPanels sub pages even though that's against the guidelines ("Write Panel/Write Post SubPanel/"). Any thoughts?
Also, should the names have "Administration" in them ("Write Administration Panel")?
More to the point, should I not care and let the big-picture people such as yourself move things around when appropriate? :)

Also - removed New Page status from this page. After removing the SubPanel stuff to separate pages, it's drastically different. See User:MDAWaffe/An Idea Administration Panels for an idea about merging all the Top Level Panels onto one page. --MDAWaffe 02:46, 11 Jan 2005 (GMT)
