I've been using WordPress since late 2006, and even earlier, in it's 1.x incarnations, but never much cared for it at that point due to lack of plugins and lack of features available in other utilities.

Since I began using it, just after WordPress 2.0 was released, things have changed in many ways. There are plugins for almost everything you need -- or want. Some of the plugins, at least to my thinking (going back to old school HTML coding days), are things you wouldn't want on your page, but to each his/her own.

I have many sites I manage and maintain in WordPress, including my personal blog, Scoop's Views, where I post my comments on a lot of current events, breaking news, attack the actions of others when they stand behind the "religion" shield, and health. In fact, there's not much that's safe from my pen/sword, but in all things, no matter what, I try to be fair.

If you wish to contact me, for whatever reason -- even to harass, as one person likes to do (it goes to show how the person has way too much free time on their hands) -- you may do so via the contact form on my site. Sorry, no direct link to it; it's fairly easy to find if you're on the site.

Since December 2006, I've helped more than 150 people launch new sites and blogs using WordPress. I've helped some of those people migrate from other blogging tools, such as MovableType, among other platforms, and other people I helped launched blogs and sites using WordPress.

When I help people get a new site set up, sometimes I charge for what I do, but other times I do it free. Why a fee sometimes, yet other times it's free? That's easy. Close friends in real life, and close, long-time friends from the 'Net qualify for free help, but only to an extent. After I install things, get them up-and-running, and give them some general guidance -- including even letting them host their site in one of my many hosting packages free for a few months until they get a Web host package of their own.

There have been quite a few occasions -- some I think are due to my brashness on various boards -- where people have contacted me to help them set up their blog or site running WordPress. If it's a simple thing, not a problem. If I have a pressing projedt on my schedule, well, the answer is "no" or "you'll have to wait until I get some free time or am done with this project."

I've helped others, including small media outlets, businesses, and others, set up the backend of the site. The backend is the powerhouse, and if you have permissions for the backend, you may never look at the actual site itself. Well, maybe you'll visit the site, if only to read your latest post on the "real" site, but most people I know prefer working in the backend or with a blog editor, such as Windows Live Writer, an ever-improving tool, designed by JJ Allaire and his team.

I often try to help others who are facing challenges and post questions in the Support forum, but I prefer to do so privately, such as through email or IM. Many times, because of a link to a person's site, it's easy to reach them, which I prefer. There has been a little too much in-fighting for my tastes in some responses on the site, so I like to help others behind the scenes.
