Talk:Hacking WordPress

Isn't some sort of explanation needed here on hacking WordPress? Just your local nag.

Also, isn't there a page about my-hacks.php? Is it ready for linking?

Hacking is good! It refers to modifying the code, is all. my-hacks.php is legacy, not actively supported or talked about ;)

I thought you might be kidding. We need something here, and I'm not the person to do it well. I know nada about hacks other than they are useful. Since there is a checkbox to "turn" it on within the Admin, someone has to start talking and bring this bad boy out of the closet....hee hee. Lorelle 04:41, 22 Feb 2005 (GMT)

Okay, did some research and grabbed bits and pieces of information to help flesh out the page. Please EDIT AT WILL since I'm shooting in the dark and staying vague, on purpose.

The following are links to empty pages that were in the article - if they written, then paste them back into their appropriate section.

Empty Pages:

  • Why Contribute
  • Coding Standards
  • Core Patch Submission
  • Version Control

A note (for me mostly): This page makes it way too hard to find the most interesting page in this section - the API page. I'll see about cleaning this up later.

Isn't the API page about Plugins and not hacks? And I think number three on the first list of helpful information is pretty obvious to find. Lorelle 23:51, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)
