Deprecated instead of Datedpage

Hi User:HEngel -- I changed Template_Tags/the_author_icq so that it shows the Deprecated template instead of Datedpage. Great work you are doing here on the Codex. Thank you.

Comment on using the Datedpage template

HEngle--I'm not sure that putting the Datedpage template on articles such as Template_Tags/comment_author_rss is necessary unless it is certain the information is obsolete. Just because a page has not have been changed for some time does not mean the data in that article is wrong or obsolete. If a page does need editing, consider using the Copyedit template. Also, based on the little fit Matt had on the wp-docs email list last week, you may want to put those template entries at the bottom of the articles. Thank you for contributing to Codex.

Please, don't add the Datedpage unless you know the page is obsolete! I know your intentions are good, but that will just increase future maintenance. --MichaelH (talk) 17:55, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
