Are "images and photo galleries in WordPress" all plugins? Should this be in its own line and not a sub-list of plugins? Lorelle 01:14, 23 Feb 2005 (GMT)
Carthik, have you yet to see me NOT be bold in my editing? HEE HEE. My question still remains. Should images and gallery stuff be below plugins or on its own? Are these all plugins or info? Lorelle 04:21, 23 Feb 2005 (GMT)
Hey, Carthik, or whoever is hanging around, there are some commented out links to articles at the bottom of the page. I hadn't noticed them before. Are these pages ready for release, a note to someone...something important that was forgotten? Lorelle 00:37, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
It is possible with wordpress to implement a completely automated posting Moblog, managing text, photos, videos and podcasts.
We used Wordpress and some plugins, then we used some services by flickr and skype.
an example of Wordpress Moblog is: http://www.cafeolympic.com
First of all: Postie. It is a plugin that allows to post in wordpress by e-mail. It is highly configurable and offers several markup options you can put in your text. The only thing is that is very sensible (it crashes) against quote and double quote in your text. It could be stronger about it. We used Postie to post videos on our blog.
If you like to keep your photos in flickr, in order not to get your server space busy, you can use 'post by e-mail' service in flickr itself. So we did to post photo contents.
The third component is Skype. You can buy a SkypeIn number and configure it to be a voicemail auto responder. In this way, all you say in your voicemail will be sent by e-mail to the address you specified. If this address, is configured in Postie plugin to post incoming e-mails, your game is done!
So, in this way you will have a Moblog completely managed from your mobile phone.
Am I the only one finding that those big grey boxes are ugly and make the page overall more difficult to edit ? :)
