Talk:Using cPanel

It's marked as needing editing ....What needs doing ?

I ask because I'm about to do something similar and I'd not want to repeat error :) --Podz 11:24, 17 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Not sure, Podz. Only thing I can see is converting it from first person. There shouldn't be terms like "I did this" and "I did that" rather there should be descriptions of what to do. "You then do this" and "you then do that."

I cleaned up the first person stuff and a couple of little details and its ready to go. Podz, this is absolutely lovely. I love the things you've done like this on the Codex. Outstanding.
Only one note. I see you repeatedly using numbers for numbers instead of words - go for the words. It is actually easier to read and the numbers squeal of chatroom lingo abreviations. This is a detail. The rest is pro perfection!

Newbie questions.

1. How do I execute this step?
"Login to your website cpanel."

2. I installed my WordPress in local computer running on Windows XP and IIS (Location: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WordPress\).

Then I have also edited the wp-config.php file as follow:
// ** MySQL settings ** //
define('DB_NAME', 'blog'); // The name of the database
define('DB_USER', 'root'); // Your MySQL username
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password'); // ...and password
define('DB_HOST', 'localhost'); // 99% chance you won't need to change this value

But whenever I tried to access the file from my Internet Explorer (URL: http://localhost/WordPress/wp-config.php), it says something like this:
"Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress."

I already have a database named "blog" for MySQL. It does not have any table yet. I dont know what went wrong. Can somebody please help me?

Thank you.
