Again, welcome and let us know how we can help you help us on the WordPress Codex.

Adding Keywords to Themes List

To help users find themes appropriate to their needs, we are asking Theme authors and volunteers to create a keyword description list for all the Themes on the Using Themes/Theme List.

These are not reviews but searchable keywords. Examples include:

  • Minimal, large header, elastic layout across width of screen, navigation in header, sidebar on right on all views
  • Minimalistic, white background, letter look, centered on page, Default Theme style sidebar on right, no sidebar on single post page, based on Default Theme. (Screenshot)
  • Content against left margin, simple, sidebar and/or navigation on right, post content in "boxes". (Demo Site)

Specifically, users need to know:

  • Sidebar on right, left, two sidebars (positioning), and sidebars on single post view and/or multi-post views
  • Minimalistic, busy, boxed, round corners, structural details
  • Elastic width, fixed in the center, or fixed width against the left margin
  • Incorporation of plugins
  • If screenshot or full demo available for viewing
  • Navigation in header, sidebar, and/or footer
  • Header ready for header image
  • Gallery, photoblog, or CMS features
  • Languages (Only available in a non-English language? If language specific, please post a link on WordPress in Your Language, too)

Thank you for helping us flesh out the Theme list and help direct users to the Themes they need. And thank you for your valuable contributions to the WordPress Community. Lorelle 22:16, 30 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Adding Ads to WordPress

Wow, we've been hoping someone would take this on. We've had a few attempts but no follow through. Also, get with User:Lastnode and check out User:Lastnode/Wordpress_CMS and there maybe some cross over. We need a separate article for this, but there may some related info there that will help you.

Some caveats. We need to be careful to not "promote" only one type of ad but offer generalized information that will help for different types of ads. Some people are not ~~comfortable~~ with this kind of an article but I believe it is very helpful and will be a good resource for those asking questions about the topic on the forum. Be sure and look through the forum to see what questions are being asked, too.

We work as a team here, so let me, or anyone on the Documentation team know if you need help, and you can also find us on the #wordpress and #wordpress-docs IRC FreeNode chat for live help. And be sure and sign up for the Mailing Lists for documentation if you want to stay informed and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks for volunteering. We're thrilled to get this article going! Lorelle 16:43, 31 Jul 2005 (UTC)

The new structure is wonderful. It flows much better. I added headers to some of the DL to make them more prominent. We need to add more code examples, as I started to do, to help people understand where the parts and pieces go. And I left some notes in the text for little things that need links or fixing. It's minor stuff.
It's really great and I think is going to past muster without any trauma. We just fill it with code examples to help the simpletons, like me. Also, in the intro, you mention Technocratic profiles and Flickr stuff. How about we change those to articles we have like Podcasting and...oh, I don't know. Write up an article on Technocratic tags and profiles and then we'll link to that. ;-) Thanks!!! Lorelle 22:42, 4 Aug 2005 (UTC)
