Kaf, thanks for all of your contributions! It is much appreciated!

Cheers, Craig. Yours are, too. And I'm quite sure of that! -Kaf 06:42, 2 Jan 2005 (GMT)
Thanks for the colouring tip, Kaf! I for one am glad that Matt rolled it in :)

Hey Kaf, what do you say to editing the Template Tags pages to have the type of parameters listed too, like at the old wiki (boolean, integer, string etc)? I think it makes thing unambiguous and professional. Also, maybe the tables you were working on for describing the Template Tags' parameters can be used for all the pages, eh? I will be glad to help make the changes, but just wanted your opinion since you've been hard at work with those pages. Thanks a lot (Please reply at my User_talk page so I know that you've replied :) )
So parameter types should be in. Let me know if you need help, else I will help as and when I can :)
You said: Not sure what you mean here. Tables?
I swear I saw some tables for the parameters on some template tags page. A quick search reveals nothing. We'll forget about it for now.
We can avoid syntax-highlight on the examples. I agree totally.
I was looking around on Special:Wantedpages and saw your Links Manager 'request' (for lack of a better word) - you've used it on the link template tag pages. I've been working on documentation for the various Administration Panels (as I have come to know them). When they go live, you should see if Manage Links SubPanel is what you're looking for. You can check out the rest of them at my user page.
PS: Did you see this? :-)

Kaf, you are doing just an awesome job! Would you be willing to have a look at The_Loop and see if you can flesh it out a bit more? We often refer folk to that page, but it really lacks any sense of telling people HOW they can use it. It's like "okay, I put The Loop into my page, now what do I do to make stuff show up?" Thanks again for your contributions.
I've seen a couple questions recently about wp_list_pages. I've looked into the functions, and I can write up a quick and dirty explanation, if you like, for you to then work your magic on. As a warning, this template tag is not in it's final state; things will change.

Thanks, Kaf, for volunteering to massage The_Loop.
As you say, it's easy to step on toes in a wiki. Above, I was just making sure I stepped lightly :) Glad to hear you're pretty easy going on the matter. Rest assured I am as well with stuff I've contributed to. It'd be madness not to be: most every article here (especially the ones with a technical side) can be expanded on, and it'd be silly to try to maintain some sort of totalitarian control over anything.
That said, you're absolutely right about duplication of effort. We all need to be careful about it. Especially since, as 1.5 gets used more and more, more and more people will be contributing to Codex. (That's what got me here).
But enough. I'm curious to hear what all else you've got planned (or quasi-planned) for The Loop, but I can wait and see :). Relatedly (who knew that was a word?), I'd like to see a page about the query arguments and the wp_query object's structure. More or less what I said over on Talk:The Loop wouldn't happen any time soon. I'm not competent enough to put together much more than a list of some basic arguments. Not a request, just a wish; staring at classes.php too long makes me want to take a nice, long stroll through a flower garden. --MDAWaffe 10:19, 10 Feb 2005 (GMT)
Hi!
You have been made a sysop, as can be seen at Special:Listadmins!! Please read about your new rights and privileges at [1]. We all hope you can start helping out with taking responsible decisions with respect to the maintenance of Codex, the trimming of pages, protecting and moving pages etc. Please use your best judgement, and if in doubt, ask the other sysops through email, or through their userpages. Should you have any problems doing any of the actions you should now be able to do, please let me, or another sysop know.
P.S. I suspect you've had many privileges even before this, but anyways, just wanted to let you know :)
How do you change your signature? Yours is always [[User:Kafkaesqui|Kaf]] instead of the normal [[User:Kafkaesqui|Kafkaesqui]]. I poked in the prefs, but didn't see anything obvious. --MDAWaffe 00:35, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)

REMINDER
WE NEED YOU!
Codex Cleanup Week is Saturday, June 18 through Sunday, June 26. This is a major push to clean up the Codex and stuff it full of great documenation so we can relax a little this summer.
Thanks for everything you do! Lorelle 21:52, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)
After 9 days of Codex Cleanup, I think I'm going mad. I'm working on an article that lists the architecture of the sidebars in WP. On it I have this in the sidebar template for the Classic Theme:
<ul> <?php wp_list_pages(); ?> <?php get_links_list(); ?> <li id="categories"><?php _e('Categories:'); ?>
On the "untouched" generated page (added a Page to generate one in the list but did not touch the template file), it shows this:
<ul> <li class="pagenav">Pages <ul> <li class="page_item">Contact</li> <li class="page_item">About</li> </ul> </li> <li id="linkcat-1"><h2>Blogroll</h2> <ul> <li>Blogroll Link 1</li> <li>Blogroll Link 1</li> <li>Blogroll Link 1</li> </ul> </li> <li id="categories">Categories:
Testing revealed that the Links tag does indeed automatically generate an H2 heading. I added that to Template Tags/get_links_list.
But there is nothing in the Template Tags/wp_list_pages that explains why the header is there by default. Instead, it implies that if you do not set one, one will not be there. Did this tag change with the recent upgrade? Or am I going nuts?
Let me know so I can fix things right or have myself committed. Thanks. Lorelle 00:31, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The Codex Documenation Team and all of WordPress thank you for your time, effort, and contributions during this past Codex Cleanup Week. It has been amazing. Over twenty new documents were added, and more are still in the works that will be released over the next couple of weeks. The entire Codex is now categorized, improving the ability of users to find the related information they are looking for.
The next big Codex-related event is WordPress Backup Week July 23-30. The project will promote backing up your WordPress database and site for the user's protection and further develop the relationship between the Codex and the WordPress Support Forum. Documentation volunteers will be cleaning up and expanding the backup and restore information on the site and Forum volunteers will be readied to help users in the Forum walk through their site backups. We need your help.
We are also starting a page for information and sign up for a variety of Fundraising and Promotions Events for WordPress and your help is needed there, too.
Thanks again for helping.
Lorelle and the whole Cleanup Codex volunteer team
Hello Kafkaesqui. Hopefully I've tucked this note in the right spot on your talk page. Lorelle suggested I throw this your way. Could you check out my latest revision of Template Tags/get posts and verify that my assumption about the 'order' and 'orderby' parameters is correct and if you have time, add to the values that can be assigned to 'orderby?' I'm not sure I'll be able to check things out fully until next week at the latest. Thanks. --Schulte 04:35, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)
See: ! Template Tags/wp list pages; 22:18 . . MCincubus (Talk | block) (lorelle was wrong about the space after title_li= This function ALWAYS returns list items. title_li= with NO SPACE after it turns off the <ul><li>Pages<ul> and </ul></li></ul> wrapper.)
I get blamed for your stuff. Oh, fun! ;-) Anyway, want to clarify this some how? Thanks. Lorelle 12:28, 19 Jul 2005 (UTC)
